The Christus Health Foundation is accepting cash or check donations that will enable a check presentation to the Philippine Association of Beaumont, a cultural organization promoting Filipino culture, at its annual Christmas event Dec. 8. According to the Philippine Association of Beaumont’s Facebook page, it will use the money donated to build a village for displaced residents in the Philippines.
Together with other influential Filipino in SETX, PABT joins Dr. Erlinda Punsalan in raising money to rebuild a village in the southern part of the Philippines that was recently hit by a typhoon. A benefit concert by GAWAD KALINGA USA will be held on January 5, 2013, at the Jefferson Theater. PABT is a supporter in building a village in the Philippines.
‘Saliw’ (harmony), ‘Aliw’ (joyous), ‘Himig’ (rhythm of music) ‘Lakbay’ (tour) performed by KORUS, as affectionately known in the Philippines, will present its musical tour of America, with a stop in Beaumont on July 31, at the Julie Rogers Theatre at 6 p.m. Korus, the University of the Philippine’s Concert Chorus (UPCC) has been known as the pioneer of choreographed choral performances in the Philippines since the early 1970’s.
